Thought this might be an interesting one as it's something I've been comparing across monitors as of late.

I find that the Sony production CRTs I've owned produce amazing results with 240p content, but when you go up to 480i consoles like the PS2/Wii/Gamecube/Xbox/Dreamcast etc, the interlaced flicker is very noticeable.

It's strange as it's not something that's really ever bothered me on consumer CRTs.

Also noticed that while playing around with consoles on my cabs, my arcade monitors don't seem to like an interlaced image either. The flicker is almost unbearable and the 15k frequency sounds like it's stepped up a gear and is struggling.

Does this bother anyone else? It's after becoming a bit of a 'cannot be unseen' since I noticed it on a cab the other day. Can't say it ever bother me when I was gaming on a 29 inch consumer trini though, so it might be something to do with the high TVL count on the BVM.

I believe it's possible to change 480i to 240p with the help of an Extron which I actually have at home (and have been trying to find a use for!)
