I got my foreign B category licence 22 years ago. I've exchanged it for an irish one last year and the AM category has been taken off me, despite the old one having it as well. I know it was given with B cat here as well up to 2003. Can I get this rectified I wonder?

AM is still a valid category for Irish licences.
Tbh, you need to approach the NDLS to get this sorted a year later. Did you check your new licence at the time for categories?
Possibly the category from your foreign licence didn't translate to our AM? Was licence from Wakanada?

    Ok, thank you!
The previous licence was EU issued (Hungary) as well, shouldn't be any differences amidst the categories. Tbh I don't remember whether I have ticked the box or not for AM.
Yes, I checked it but I probably wasn't thorough enough. I don't ride scooters too often and despite of having said that is it still good to have the AM option.

Check with NDLS. They have your old licence copied (or maybe even the actual one, I don't recall)
For the fee of renewing or updating licence they might just stick AM on there

Cheers! I'll get it checked later.
