Garda Vetting

    Hi,

I have one conviction from 2006 to my name and I'm wondering will that be detailed on a garda vetting disclosure? It was a controlled substance possession conviction. I do hear things like if its over 7 years, certain convictions get wiped but I'm not sure on the specifics, maybe somebody out there knows more?

In the near future I hope to run music production and songwriting workshops for young people and I also see myself doing some volunteering work in the future, but I know these sort of things require garda vetting. I fear that they will see this conviction and I'll be rejected of these sort of opportunities. 12 years is a long time, it was my one and only time in trouble with the law and I was 19 years old. I've had a lot of time to mature and move on from that. But where do I stand in regards to the law?
