    Hi folks,
My head is befuddled from trying to figure out my particular situation. I'm a PAYE worker, but a client wants to pay me for a one off job and needs a tax clearance number. It's only a few hundred euro and probably won't arise again throughout the year, certainly not to any significant amount/

Is the simplest option to register as a sole trader? Won't that have a significant hit on my current tax credits?
    Thanks in advance!

Registering as a sole trader will cause more problems. Send a message on My Enquiries explaining that you are a Paye worker and want a tax clearance cert.

Any additional income earned during the year must be returned on a Form 12.
