    See, for example, https://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/motors/jaguar-sneaks-ahead-of-audi-in-electric-suv-race-1.3419907

Pity about the price, but I guess you can't have everything!

This is going to be miles better
    https://electrek.co/2018/01/11/audi-e-tron-quattro-sportback-reservation/

    Looks way better as well

Both of them are hopelessly mired behind Tesla's Model X as they are in similar price ranges but do not have Tesla support network and Tesla Supercharger access.

Imagine your company director buying a Jaguar I Pace and having to get 5 charging cards to go to france in it, and download 2 new apps. With a tesla you just sit in and drive, like an ICE

Rather than take the bait and get sucked into yet another discussion on the merits of Tesla vs. The Rest, I'll repeat my earlier point: it looks like the choice of real EV cars on the market is about to increase significantly.

Both the Jaguar and the Audi, and hopefully the Mini EV too, all look to be highly desirable cars in their own right, regardless of their motive power. Without wishing to insult anyone, I'd hasitate to say the same about the Leaf or Zoe and the like. A good thing, no?

It's nothing to do with take the bait. If you're going to post a subjective opinion on a discussion board you should expect to see alternate views.

Visually, yes both linked cars are very attractive. But not so much as an ownership proposition.

    Tesla.....meh

All great having a charging network but you can't buy the bloody cars:P also when you get one it falls apart after a few days

P.S Ionity will resolve those issues

P.S. 2 99% of these cars will never leave Dublin South Side

IF... and it's a big IF. If Ionity can reach the penetration level of the Tesla network of superchargers and destination chargers then yes the SC network becomes moot. However the grand total of Ionity chargers is probably 0. Certainly no where near pan-EU cover.

You can buy teslas, you just cant get a model 3 right now. They don't "fall apart". Drivetrain issues were afflicting Model S pre 2014 but all fixed under warranty. Founder editions of the model X had their issues but again are all under warranty.

Regardless of whether the cars will leave Dublin or not, they need to have the ability to. If we are going by actual use patterns and not people's perceptions shouldnt they all have bought leafs?

This is not a Tesla thread......or a thread about charging. It is about some nice looking cars coming to market.....

    Those Audi's look class.

I have to be honest. The Model S has not aged well in my eyes. I actually see them regularly enough now that i can say its a pretty boring bloody car

It's a thread about the new cars. I am discussing why the new cars are not meeting the standard set by the competition.

Perfectly related, not that I need to justify my reason for posting. If you disagree with the points I made please feel free to put forward a rational argument to disprove them, otherwise do not attempt to moderate my posts thanks

Easy solution to that is for the EU to force interoperability between the companies. You don't see Ford ICE drivers having to pull into a Ford petrol station why should a Ford EV have to use a Ford charging station.

The powers want us in EV so they need to sort this crap out or EV will never take off. That means that anyone can charge anywhere regardless of who supplies the infrastructure.

Thread title, 'VERY ATTRACTIVE EV;S COMING TO THE MARKET.

I think it speaks for itself, its not a debate on how the cars infrastructure fairs. its about how attractive new EVs that are coming are.

technically your derailing it into a Tesla infrastructure debate.

There needs to be. But these cars are being sold with no interoperability

The reason I started the thread is that we've been looking at EV concept cars for literally decades. A very few have made it to market, but the choice is not great.

However, it looks like this year things are starting to happen at last.

If Audi can release an SUV I would expect VW to release the exact same thing fairly quickly. They have said the Crozz will be available to order next year with delivery in 2020.

You can find videos online with people having a good look over the concept so its not that far off

OK, point taken. Mind you, if the Audi didn't exist I'd be a lot more cynical: there are concept cars at every major motor show that are a couple of years out from production, the vast majority of which never see the light of day.

No word on when it might be available here, but this looks like another interesting option:
