I'm looking to go out and fish the rocks here in Balbriggan, when would be the best time to go?
If i went out this month or next is there anything i can expect to catch?

I don't know the area but presume it's the sea?
It's very early yet, fishing with bait could get you a lot of whiting but the majority will be about 3 inches long. The odd codling too maybe but about the same size.
End of May on it should get a bit better, depending on the area.

You could call into Balbriggan Cycling and Angling who are based on High Street behind the Bracken Court Hotel for information

If you fancy fly fishing, Gormanston Angling Club hold the rights to the former Wavin Lake (just south of Balrothery) and on the Delvin River (annual membership required)

Nearby is 'Courtlough Trout Fishery' (no membership required - full and half day tickets. Instruction given and rod hire available) 087 271 2704 No website, but they have a facebook page. Good stock of rainbow trout

You may have some luck off the rocks in Hampton cove at night I used to get the odd decent codling there in the past. Other than that you could try laytown or gormanston for flounder
