Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's a pity that we don't have a national chess centre where all the games in each round of the leagues could be played at the same time and venue and where we could hold the Irish Championship, City of Dublin etc. The venue could also maybe serve as a centre for bridge, scrabble, go and other games. If all these organisations got together they could perhaps apply for, and get, some lotto money!!

Great idea! Something like the Saint Louis Chess Club, where lectures and workshops could be held regularly as well.

However, I would oppose having to travel to Dublin for every round. It's nice to have some home games too.

Maybe these guys would give a grant towards something like this

Interesting idea - would you put it in Athlone? Seems to be pretty much middle of the country.

Athlone is central but not necessarily the most accessible and as far as I know there aren't that many chess players from that region . Somewhere on the outskirts of Dublin would probably attract most people. Nowhere would be perfect for everybody.
