    Hi all,

Just wondering what the public waiting time is for an ENT roughly? :)

    Depends what's wrong with you.
Depends on wether the consultant classifies your referral as urgent, asap or routine.
Depends what part of the country.
    Usually 2 years.

    2 years?

Looking for a sinus scope because gp thinks I have polyps

That would probably be deemed routine as it is not cancer.
    So yeah probably 2 years.
Very hard to say to find out you'd have to call your local hospital .
It's be 2 years for that in my local hospital.

Routine list is 2-3 years in my hospital.

Is there any way I can get bumped? I'm constantly in pain and sick.

    Money, money, money. Private hospital.

I'd say I'll have to go private. The loss of income from sick days over the three year waiting period is probably more than the private hospital itself :o

In fairness I think they ****ed up the records. I'd been waiting almost 2 years when I got a call to ask if I still wanted to be on the list. Come to think of it it's closer to 7 years since I got the referral. GP told me to call a hospital, called 2, called into 3 places, no-one seems to know where the record is.

Ended up seeing an ENT privately today. Didn't get good news but at least I wasn't left waiting!
