I leave them soaking in a bucket of warm water and soap

Are they the white ones or the red and blue ones?

Throw the white ones that came with it in the bin, only place to them and buy 2 sets of the blue and red ropes at your local store. After drying they still stay soft and the biggest plus is you can coordinate the colours, red for right leg and blue for left leg. Just make sure to tie another not or two in each of them so you have more options when using the jack.

I use 3 ropes when calving a cow. First rope on over hoof then put second rope over that one above the crubes. Do same on second leg.

I have white ropes here. Wash in soapy water after use and keep in old soup plastic container with water and some Milton added. The Milton has them snow white when needed.

Great idea with the Milton. No need to worrie about what the hell is on them after spending a day a week or a year thrown in the shed.

I’ve often moved the rope on up over the knee. Do you not need 4 for what you’re doing?

Ah that makes more sense! I just rope above the crubs inside the cow. Used the white ropes for years here, got the blue & red ones for this season, find no real difference.

They are a lot softer on the calves legs.

Well we've not had to use them much, only on that big white bull!
