    After getting rebuffed by the various eBay vendors for the Chinese 5/6 atm wet tester I remembered reading about building your own for $40.

    Here's the WUS thread:
    http://forums.watchuseek.com/f6/diy-water-proof-tester-how-build-10-atm-100m-watch-water-pressure-tester-%2440-4319282.html

    I've ordered all the components (the case from Amazon US and all the other pieces from eBay). Total spend was:

    Case - €21
    Gauge - €3
    3/8 to 1/4 npt connector x2 - €5
    1/4 npt cutoff valve - €4
    1/4 npt schrader valve x2 - €4 (they didn't sell individual ones)

    total = €37 delivered.

    Will post photos of the final contraption once it all arrives and I assemble it.

    Makes me much happier to have my own water resistance tester for my yearly test of my various watches (and especially before any holiday where I'll be swimming etc).

    Much cheaper than the cheapest offer I got for the Chinese tester (€130 delivered). Plus it'll be fun to build it myself :D
