Hi. Currently have dual heating system oil and solid fuel. Oil Boiler and burner have packed it in so looking to switch to natural gas from the road rather than continue with oil. 30+ old solid fuel back boiler will be decommissioned as part of the conversion

To this end looking remove fireplace and replace with more efficient stove
    1. Is it a big job to remove existing back boiler and replace with either freestanding or insert stove.
    2. Can I light standalone fire with decommissioned back boiler in the interim

    Many thanks
