    Hi all,
Is it usually the case that the venue/hotel provide complimentary rooms for the parents of the bride and groom? We're having our ceremony and wedding in Barnabrow House and thought that this was the case but, upon further inquiry, it seems that it's not. I thought it was a given and didn't properly look into it. Perhaps only some hotels do this, maybe it's not as common as I thought?
    Thanks!

Never heard of it. The bridal suite will be covered in the price of the wedding but other than that I'd imagine all rooms need to be paid for.

On the majority of hotels I did research on it was included, and in our venue it is included.

Edit: Just saw the above, two completely opposite replies just to confuse you! XD

Our wedding package included the bridal suite and 3 rooms aswell as a discounted guest rate.

I'm married many years so maybe it's a relatively new thing? I really have never heard of it being done and wouldn't have expected it.

Nothing is complimentary. You pay for it all in one way or another. Our hotel package 'included' rooms for our parents. But cheaper packages in the same hotel didn't include rooms for parents. Work out total cost and see how much 2 extra rooms will cost and see what's better value for you on your wedding day

Ours included two complimentary rooms.....it varies from hotel to hotel.....OP, why did you think it was included?

We looked at 5 or 6 places when we were getting married and they all had two comp rooms for parents. I thought it was a given to be honest!

Nope, we got our bridal Suite that night of the wedding included and the hotel had 10 rooms for a cheaper nightly rate that we used for family.

Any hotel we visited had the 2 parents rooms covered! So I wouldn't blame the OP for assuming they would be covered.. I'd have kind of assumed the same myself! Saying that if they weren't covered, I'd definitely be covering them myself!

Thanks for the replies folks, the variation among them shows that it is not an across-the-board thing although it seems that Barnabrow might be in the minority by not having them complimentary. That being said, our wedding is small and it would've had to have been expanded, maybe even doubled, to have been worth approaching a hotel. I just wanted to see the lay of the land with the rooms really, it's all booked and whatnot so it's not like I could change it anyway :) .

    Hi,
When looking at venues for my wedding, some places included parents rooms and some didn't. One place even included rooms for the Best man and Bridesmaid!

The place we were drawn to didn't have them but when we mentioned other venue packages, they added in the 2 extra rooms with no fuss along with a couple of other small things (late bar fee waived, reception scones, 50 bottles of local brew, etc..).

My advice in hindsight to everyone is to haggle a little before signing anything or paying deposits. You may not get money off but I found every wedding supplier would happily throw in a something extra in their package to get the booking (extra prints from photographers, bottle of champagne from the wedding car, extra buttonholes from the florist).

I'd heard of many hotels including them but ours didn't. We got a miserly discount on 4 rooms which could be used by parents or bridal party.
