    Hi,

Looking for some help as I'm somewhat out of touch with all the latest TV's... been 10 years since I bought a TV.

This is not the main TV its for a kitchen... currently have a 37 inch TV which has packed in.

Heres what I have on the wish list:

    * ideally not much bigger than my current 37 (91cm (H) x 61 1/2 cm(W))  inch tv as space is tight. can go another 1 or two cm's if needed. Dont want to go smaller than what we had.

    * saorview

    * I believe some TV's have a way to connect a satellite cable and I can get UK free to air channels... if this is possible id like this too.

    * as ill only be using saorview & UK free to air I dont see the need for 4K correct?

    * Ill be using an amazon fire stick for amazon prime & netflix

If you can help I'll gladly purchase from you.

    Regards,

    Dave

    Hi Dave.

    Thanks for the post.

You would be starting at a 40" as 37" and even 39" don't seem to be manufactured any longer.

There are also very few non 4K screens on the market.

You could look over the following screens to see if any might suit.
Samsung UE40MU6400 - Will just fit the space you have. - Has a satellite tuner for freesat but to switch between Saorview and the freesat tuner you need to retune the TV each time.
    Currently priced at £429.00

If you wanted non 4K Panasonic have the 40ES500 priced at £349.00. Will fit the space. No Satellite tuner.

Panasonic also have the 4K version the 40EX600 also priced at £349.00 - Again should just fit your gap. No satellite tuner.

There is also a 43" LG which might be too large for the space you have. Priced at £339.00. Also has a satellite tuner.

Let me know what you think.

Many thanks for the prompt reply....

Like the look of this one you suggested .... http://www.richersounds.ie/p-202568-ue40mu6400.aspx#tabSpecifications-tab

Not keen on the constant retuning.... would I need to retune each time I switch between saorview to UK freeview or each time I power up the TV?

I wouldnt mind purchasing another box if theres one available.. i.e. is there a single box which could do both saorview & UK freesat?

    Hey Galway_Guy_33.

With the Samsung for some reason you need to retune every time if you want to switch between freeview tuner and freesat tuner. I even called Samsung again just now to triple check and they have gave me the same info.

Unfortunately there is not a box that we would stock that can get both Saorview and Freesat. Its usually one or the other.
You could use the TV tuner for Saorview and a separate box for Freesat. Something like the Humax HB1000s priced at £79.00

...guys just for clarity - the LG does not have to be retuned when switching between satellite & Saorview but the change is a multi button switch...
