I bought a new Virgin media box about a week ago. Installation seemed simple. Just plug in the cable but the box just keeps flashing green for hours.

I can connect to the network but the internet won't work.

    Any advice welcome.

Is it WiFi symbol that’s flashing green? I got a VM hub 3 (I think, black box) about 2 weeks ago, the other day I was met with a flashing green WiFi symbol. The network appeared to work as normal though. I read that it was supposed to be something to do with channel congestion but a quick analysis proved that not to be the case. I did a quick reboot and I’ve not seen the green light again since. I expect it’ll be back in a week or so.

I bought a new Virgin media box

You bought? From somebody other than VM? Thats called buying stolen property bud and it will never work.

No I bought it from virgin. The Wi-Fi signal is solid green and the base light is flashing green.

It means it's downloading a software update or something but it doesn't stop flashing. The light is meant to be white when the internet is working.

Have you tried a pin reset?
