Accounting - Education options

    Hi,

I'm currently at home with the kids but now that my small one is a year old, I'm thinking of my future regarding work.
I got pregnant shortly after I moved here and had a job lined up but it fell through because I was in poor health the first 5 months of my pregnancy.

I worked in a small office for a few years that had a huge part of bookkeeping/accounting. I loved that job and genuinely enjoyed doing it. I'm thinking of getting back into that field but I basically lack the professional knowledge of the Irish tax system.
So I was looking around and came across a few courses but I have no idea what's good and makes the most sense.

There's a course for Accounting technicians and there are classes in the next bigger town 20 minutes away from me. Is this a good stepping stone or would the 3rd level approach make more sense?
Have to mention I'm living 1,5h drive away from the next university since we're living pretty rural and my day is full of minding the kids.

I'm also a bit worried about the cost of the course because that'll definitely be a tough one to pay.

    I'd appreciate every input!

    Hi there

Sorry no one has gotten back to you.

Deciding on what accounting qualification to follow can be a little complex. If you can email me my user name @ gmail.com I can liaise with you directly.

I am an accountant and quite involved in the whole "becoming an accountant" piece.
