Does anyone know of a Lexus mechanic who could repair Lexus RX300 jeep. ABS system at reasonable cost?
Have had the car with local mechanic, local electrical mechanic and LEXUS dealer all investigate and use diagnostics on the car.
LEXUS dealer estimate of repair cost on ABS unit more that what the car is worth? LEXuS RX300 jeep.(2005).
Never had any issue with the vehicle until this ABS error appeared.. Lees than 90k mileage.

On idle the ABS error display on dash a few seconds after startup and idle , and abs alarm will sound when driven..

Issue is not with the wheel sensor from what i understand, fault must be in central abs system

brakes still operate.all right.... but obviously recommendation from lexus is not to drive as abs error display is on.

    Is it driving as normal?

If the ABS unit is at fault you can get a tested second hand one but you might need to code it to your RX.

Give us all a laugh and tell us what the Lexus dealership quote was?

laugh is right! 5k estimate and no confirmation that it could be fixed !!

If you're in Dublin I have a professional code reader if you want to re-scan it for the codes. No charge! Lexus fan here btw!

    thanks for the offer.

I'd pretty sure the code on the diagnostics unit wont be specific enough to pin point the ABS fault (or segment).

Both the checks I got done reported a general ABS stabilisation error code.

anybody know of any ex Lexus mechanic or brakes specialist who might tackle the job?
