Have a few days off work next week, what's the best pub around the city centre (Dublin) for watching the festival, preferably with a bookies nearby?

Get the 77 out to Walkinstown. Get off at the Drimnagh Road and walk 20 yards to "The Halfway House" pub across from the BOI and the Long Mile Inn.

Trust me on this...............You wont get a better boozer in Dublin for Cheltenham,

The goat is a good option too.

    Not city centre though

Dame Tavern is the best racing pub I can ever find in CC.

Cassidys on Camden Street have it on every year. They have big screen and do tipster competition. It does be very busy so suggest getting there around 1pm.

Thanks lads, good few options there.
Boyles 2 doors up from cassidys looks a winner to me.

Racing is always on in Briodys on Marlboro St, Powers right next door.
Think Bruxelles usually show racing too if you want to around Grafton St area

Briodys is an awful place. The Sackville is sorely missed.

    I like Briodys :(
Another good spot would be the "oul lads side" of the Blacklion in Inchicore, a PP SP board in the bar and a PP just across the road.

The Beachcomber in Killester is always lively although a good bit out from the city centre.

Really? Haven't been there in a few years. Going on Tuesday. I believe they have a few young ones in behind the counter pulling pints. Maybe the reason for the poor beer.

They should be making the sammiches out the back. Easy on the eye though.

Yep , black lion is great .They need a punters Lolly pop lady to help cross that road to pp for the week though . Traffic can cause a missed price .

Pint is generally excellent in the beachy. Good food too. Great pub for Cheltenham week! Gaffneys in Fairview is one of the best pints around but no food.

Camden St your best shout - failing Cassidys, Ryans is a good spot to watch it. PP a few doors up and Laddies a few doors up on the opposite side. Odds on one of the TVs too in Ryans for PP. They'll be dishing out few bets too.

Gibney's in Malahide. Loads of screens throughout and also a big screen in the beer garden.
