water softener calculations

    Hi

    I was hoping someone could help me with water softener settings:

    There are 4 in our household, 2 adults and 2 young kids

    I reckon daily water usage is approx. 400L (probably over estimate)

    system is:

    Autotrol 255 with 440 control that is 10 years

    resin capacity is 24L (10''X23'') with upflow back wash

    3 salt setting for regeneration 40, 120 or 200g/L of resin

    water hardness is 345mg/L

    what would be most efficient salt setting and regeneration frequency for me to set on the system?

    any thoughts appreciated :)
