anyone any experience with the accord? wondering how these handle on juice when it comes to city driving, and are they worth buying in general?

I think they're pretty alright not as good as a 1.8ivtec civic but not too bad all the same.

Suspension parts and bushes are a bit pricey but they're generally a very solid reliable and cheap to maintain car.

Ya can get ones with a decent spec for peanuts these days and they've aged very well imo so all in all they're a good buy.

Ay it'll really depend on how it's driven too and it'll never be as economical to run as a reliable 1.9tdi but I suppose it makes up for that of the 1.9tdi becomes unreliable

I have a 2005 accord 2.0 vtec. I do find it is heavy enough on juice but it's very reliable. Mine has almost 300,000km on the clock and I haven't had anything go wrong with it. It has passed every nct first time. It's still lovely to drive. I would definitely recommend one.

Unfortunately I do very little city driving so wouldn't be able to advise on that. Most of my driving is on national roads and some motorway driving and I do find it a little heavy. But have had it a few years now and will definitely hang onto it due to the reliability.

Be prepared for a big drop in MPG figures going from the Passat to a petrol Accord. Around town, you'll be getting anywhere from 20-25mpg and low 30's on mixed driving and 38-42mpg on a long motorway run.
