I live in an apartment where space is obviously at a premium. We hang our clothes to dry around the apartment with various clothes horses taking up a lot of space. We also have a child on the way so the laundry is only going to increase.

We are considering doing away with our old washing machine and buying a a washer dryer combo.
Are these machines actually worth investing in?

if space is at a premium it is the only option you have. w/dryers are fine for washing but is at drying they are slower as it only has a washer drum but for drying clothes expand thus you have to remove approx. half of the wash load to do the drying. if you want a machine to last a considerable length of time have a look at the German brands
