I did this course in 2016 and went straight into a well-paid tech writing job. Everyone got jobs out of it.

How good it is depends on what job you're hoping to get from it? Lots of tech writing and instructional design jobs in Ireland, but if you're hoping for something really tech-y, maybe look somewhere else.

What was your background before doing the course?

My undergrad is in English Lit. I specifically went into the course with the aim of going into technical writing. I work for a software company now.

Did you do this course in UL? Did you do it full-time or part time or online?

Were there any teachers on career change doing this course?

I did it full time, on campus. However, I think I'd do it part time, online if I could go back in time, but that's really dependant on circumstances. Lots of people on the course were going to back to work after raising kids, and a few people were definitely working as teachers.

I was coming straight from college, but I was in the minority in that. We graduated in January and I'm pretty sure everyone is now employed (in technical communication/e-learning jobs).

Thanks for the info, very helpful. The fact you would prefer to have done the online course sounds promising as in it must be getting good feedback? One more question; was it a very intensive course? I know you did it full time not online so prob not exactly the same but how many hours a week woukd you be putting into it? I’m working full time as a teacher and have kids so just trying to gauge how difficult to juggle it would be!!

Just wondering if you would know, for those who did it part-time were the hours spread out over the 2 days or were they in for 1 full day? Thanks a mill
