Is it possible to find out who has received a personal injury claim? You often see reports in newspapers etc about people having received multiple claims over the years,

As a matter of publically accessible information I suspect not.

Some cases are settled by negotiation without legal proceedings ever having issued in which case there would be no public record. Even if legal proceedings have issued, a case settled by negotiation is usually discontinued or struck out with no order.

If you had a claim against you your insurers probably have access to a database that would throw up the name and address and DOB of the claimant if they have claimed previously. It is prudent to try and get all previous addresses of a claimant so that the chance of a true match is maximised.

Additionally, if a claimant is issuing legal proceedings it would be expected that information about previous injuries or accidents would be eventually unearthed in the pleadings or by discovery.
