I have a 2006 pathfinder. Failed the nct the other day. hole in the chassis. Large hole, I can easily put 2 figures into it. Anyone have luck with Nissan taking it back and how much will they give.

You'll have to let a Nissan dealer inspect it to get the ball rolling, previous threads would have you believe that the buy backs are actually pretty straight forward.

For a good while a Navara with a failed DOE cert with rust listed as the failure would have Nissan writing a cheque.

Last year they started requiring a written report with pictures from a Nissan garage to proceed. I believe now they are making it harder again to proceed but I dont have exact details yet.

The Pathfinder is the same basic chassis as the Navara and I believe Nissan arn't planning any recalls as such, just deal with them as they appear. Book it into your local Nissan garage for a report.

I suppose the older the cars get, the easier it is for Nissan to play down a rust issue.
