Bus/Train from Dublin to Moate

Hey, is there any train service from Dublin to Moate or even a station close to Moate?

Also is there a direct bus from Dublin to Moate and vice versa that would be recommended?

There is no Train Station in Moate. Clara or Athlone would be the nearest stations.

Not true. There is a train station in Moate, it just doesn't see any trains anymore. The line from Athlone to Mullingar is now a Greenway called The Old Rail Trail. So if you feel fit enough, after you get off the train in Athlone, there's a bike hire down the street from the station and you can cycle the rest of the way. Alternatively Bus Eireann Route 20 (not 20x) or Citylink commuter services will get you to Moate.

I take your point, but I don't think the OP was asking about train stations that don't see trains anymore.
