Hi All, can any one advise what should be done with the lower teeth on the image attached.
Should it be extracted or should room be made?
Any advise would be gratefully accepted.lower teeth.jpg

    Hi, I'm not an orthodontist.

With relatively well aligned arches a totally excluded lower incisor could be extracted.
It's unlikely that you would extract a tooth to include it and resolve the crowding.

Aesthetically I don't think anyone but a dentist etc examining your teeth would notice.

This is for your orthodontist to decide,& should have/would have been discussed& planned from the outset. Only another orthodontist can give you a 2nd opinion,& they'll need to see your mouth clinically & assess your xrays in order to do so.

Agreed, The decision was made before the braces went on, maybe go back to your orthodontist and remind yourself what that was.

Hi all, thanks for the replies.
Before the braces went on, it was stated they didn't know if they were going to leave the tooth or extract it, just looking for some options here. Has anyone ever been in this position before?

rachael to be blunt your orthodontist should tell you what to do. Internet randomers have nothing of value to offer you. By the looks of it the orthodontist has no intention of opening a space to move it forward.

Tonnes of orthodontic patients. There's only so much space in the mouth to accommodate so much teeth.
Once the final result at the end of treatment is a line of straight teeth that look presentable, & bite effectively, why get bogged down in confusion& mistrust?
It's a work on progress at the moment. Chat to your orthodontist, keep the lines of communication open,& keep the faith.
