I've set a date with my fiancee for 25th of October.
I'm a Scottish citizen but resident in Ireland since the 90's. I read I need my birth certificate apostilled , I already have a copy of my birth cert which has been stamped with a covering letter from UK embassy in dublin stating it is true birth certificate. I am wondering if this will suffice?

Who would be the best to ask this question to?

It should do. I'm a UK citizen who married here. I gave notice from the UK, made an appointment with the registrars and flew in. All I had was a copy of my birth cert, the form from the priest and a utility bill as proof of address. I wasn't asked for an apostille.

Check with the registrars office as to what you need to bring though. It was 10 years ago, when I did mine! :D

Oddly enough, we got married the week before...
