    Just wondering what happens next!
It's a crowned front tooth. I recently had an abscess in the root. The dentist drilled through the back of the crown and did root canal. That was a few weeks ago.
The crown has just snapped. Disaster!
    So what happens next?

likely a temporary post and a temporary crown, or the dentist can retrofit the old crown to a post. Save the fragment and get to your dentist asap, they will treat it as a dental emergency. Dont fret it will be sorted soon.

    Thanks for that.
The crown is intact. Broken clean off.
Can I ask you, do you think I should go to my regular dentist, or to the root specialist who did the root canal?

Ok. Thank you. That's a big help. Any idea how long it might take to fix? Is it like fitting a crown, where there's a temporary post first and then a permanent one?
