Talking too fast

Any one else very aware they talk too fast?

What can one do to talk slower? I tend to talk quicker than I think, and often end up sounding rather foolish as a result.

I also have to repeat what I say regularly and it's especially annoying when I know its my fault.

Can speak fine when reading from a script, it's freestyle where the issue lies

It can be the result of low self esteem, subconciously you don't below you deserve people's time.

Make a concious effort to put pauses in your speech, slow down and be present, enjoy the sounds you make with your mouth.

If you think you are talking too quickly, then you are. Learn the Alexander method.

Just speak a foreign language you don't know very well. You're bound to slow right down.

We're not talking too fast, they're listening too slow.

Maybe the people you are talking to could listen slower. Slower
    listening to counteract faster talking.

I talk fast if I'm excited about something. The upside is I can understand other people that do it, within reason.

Just get a job as an auctioneer you'll be grand.
