Yeah off mats/place to the side on Sunday, comp was cancelled, just casual golf. Bunkers full of snow though. No mats for the spring league only.

Course open today for regular Wednesday comp - still off fairway mats but all greens, bunkers etc were in operation. The wind has dried the place out nicely and the greens were nippy enough!!

May be some maintenance to be done......can't imagine the greenkeepers have been able to get out much for the last 10/12 days there.

Was chatting to a lad in Castleknock. They got in as soon as it stopped snowing and cleared every single green. That meant when it melted, the greens didn't get waterloged. Some damage done to some bunkers from heavy snow and I'm sure more to be found at it melts away. I played it Friday and have to say it was it great nic. Bunkers out of play, still plenty of snow in most of them with the drifts.

Jeysus lads, golf as a business took some pasting the last 2 weeks. I wonder how many got really hurt financially, I'm sure quite a few. Some will have paid staff, some I'm sure won't have, but with no revenue coming it, it will surely have hurt clubs. Even bars and restaurants revenues will be down with nobody going in after their games. I was in Castleknock on Wednesday and we were the only ones there.

Ardee ( Meath / Louth border) has been open since 2.30pm Tuesday.

Played Thursday and it was fine, no snow on the course and no standing water. Same again today but a little softer due to heavy rain last night.

Moate was in great condition at the weekend considering the amount of snow that lay there for a few days. Fair play to our greenkeepers and volunteers.

Blessington lakes closed at the weekend we had to move our drive in to Bank Holiday Monday, the drifts around this part of Wicklow were incredible, hopefully we will be open tomorrow.

Played Kilcock today. Place in good condition considering it got hit hard with snow. Greens good. Wet in places but you have to expect that!
