I had a Garda vetting done a couple years ago for a voluntary job that I did not take up, everything was fine so that is no problem but I recently saw a job that required vetting and wonder if I could get a copy of the clearance.

Most companies have to renew every 2 years but now it only takes a few days as its done electronically

Is it possible to get a copy?

Isn't it still a new vetting per position? I know they were going to try to change it but don't think that's in yet.

You can't take vetting for one job and transfer it to another. You have to get re-vetted for each position.

Every vetting is unique to the job and not transferable.

It's a quick process at present via e-vetting and just requires the company to request for the employee to be vetted.

If a job says they require vetting, what they mean is that they require that you consent to be vetted, and that you are clear of convictions. It doesn't mean that they require you to be already vetted.
