No sound from desktop PC to TV

    Hi all , sorry if this is a stupid question or been asked before , but i have a dell xps desktop thats connected via VGA or DVI to HDMI on my TV and am getting no sound , can anyone explain which cable i need to access sound

    VGA and DVI carry video only, no audio.

    Thanks is there a cable i can get for desktop to tv to enable audio ?

    If you have an HDMI output from the PC and a HDMI socket on the TV then a HDMI cable.

    Else you could use two cables ...... one for the video and a separate one for the audio, which again depends on the connections available on the devices in question.
