    Hi all,

Did my P21 the other day and it now says I underpaid USB by 87 euro. However under the treatment of result it says:

This underpayment will not be collected at this time

Does that mean they won't bother to collect it? Or do I still have to pay it back ?

    Thanks!

No, you don't have to pay it back. If they wanted to take it back, they'd have told you that they would be reducing your tax credits for next year which they didn't, so it looks as though you're OK.

If you underpaid tax again next year and if the underpayment was larger then they might look for the total amount back, but at the moment it looks like you're in the clear!

Ah great to know, also just one more question if you know the answer, because I went over the limit (possibly from working extra hours as I'm a college student its only part time), does that mean that they will now charge me usc on future payslips ? My base pay doesn't usually hit the 13,000 limit.

Once you earn below the threshold you wont be charged USC.

Also be aware that next year should you be in a refund situation the underpayment will be collected by reducing your overpayment by the amount owed. Just because they are not collecting it at this time does not mean you do not have a liability outstanding
