Hi all. In a bit of a situation. My most recent employer won't give me my P45. I'm panicking at this stage as I have interviews for jobs lined up and if I'm successful I'll be starting in a job by April. I'm starting to wonder if my last employer ever even paid PRSI contributions for me! I never got a wage slip and now that they won't send on my P45 after I messaged them and sent letters I think that they won't give me my P45 as I believe they never made my PRSI contributions. When I start in a new job and to avoid emergency tax, do I contact Revenue and explain the situation and give them my new employer's details or do I give my new employer my most recent P45 and will that make everything ok? TIA to anyone who can help me. Apologies for the ramble.

Register for MyAccount on www.revenue.ie. once you get a new job you can register it online to avoid emergency tax.

If you cant get a P45 contact Revenue and ask them to issue a P43 directly to the employer. This is essentially a request from Revenue for the P45 details and also the legal consequences for failing to do provide the P45
