Hi there, as the title suggests a metal broom handle fell into the oil tank when I was checking it today. I slipped with the ice and the whole thing fell in! I'm seriously worried that this is going to cause harm and damage. There is no way I can get it out. Do I need a new tank or can I just carry on as normal. I am sharing a house with the landlord and I'm worried I'll have to pay for a new tank. Can the heating be turned on whilst the broom handle is floating away in the tank :confused::confused:

    Thanks

Thanks for that Wearb. Was hoping I could just leave it in but it looks like I'll have to try and get it out one way or another.

If it’s just a plain metal handle, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Go to dealz or pound shop and buy a litter grabber / handy reacher and use that to get it out.

Dealz or pound shop might have one for €1.50 but worst case there is Argos or the likes of Woodies.
