Heating timer/controller won't turn off

    Hi All

We have GFCH controlled by a Danfoss SET1E timeswitch that has never given any trouble before. We were leaving the house for a few days over the snow there so I set it to come on for 45 minutes in the morning and another 45 minutes in the evening and left it in the "Timed" position. Came home yesterday and the house was like a furnace and the heat was on despite it not being during one of the set time periods. Tried to switch it off at the timeswitch and it just stayed on even when switched to the "off" position. The clock on it is also stopped. I tried resetting it using the reset button behind the slider, but no dice. Ended up having to just shut the boiler itself down, the controller itself is still on.

Anyone any ideas? Is this a job for an electrician or an RGI? I know there's a hard reset that can be done on the controller but Danfoss seem to have the process locked down pretty tight, can't find it online.

    Thanks a mill.

Anyone? All I really want to know is whether I need an electrician or an RGI.

    Thanks a mill.

an RGI will sort you out, sounds like a motorised valve may have stuck in the 'on' position.
You can turn your heating off by turning of the main fused spur switch while waiting for your RGI
