Did anyone DIY a selfie station?

    Hi,
I was dead set against the whole photo booth/ selfie mirror hire as just reckoned it was too much money and gimicky. Now I'm wondering about the kids and teens coming and how much craic they might get out of something like that so thinking of getting a DIY kit of props and frame and letting people work away. I was at a wedding a few years ago and they had random props going around but no photo booth and I didn't make the connection as I didn't know about photobooth etc back then. Anyone do this?. Thought it might be an idea??

Hiya, we did it and it went down a treat. I bought loads of stuff on eBay for super cheap and I did jars with sweets too for the same table and it went down very well.... even the adults loved it!!! The biggest hit was selfie sticks and I didn't think they would be but we could have done with more of them!! Enjoy it, it's a lot of fun bringing it together:)

There was a selfie stick and props on every table of a wedding we went to! Also bro in law did a polaroid camera photobook - you'd spend as much on papers and stuff tho..

We put selfie sticks and props on all our tables, all sourced from china on Ebay. delivery took awhile but was inexpensive. It was nice, we actually got a lot of the selfies off people (or their social media account) and had a page in our wedding album full of the random selfie stick pictures with props - and its one of my favorite pages in the album!

Love this idea but for us, we are having a small wedding with proper sit down and an evening part with another 70/80, more informal, so thinking of setting up a table somewhere and leaving selfie sticks/ props there or using one of those frames? I've done a little google and found inflatable "frames" . Look funny.

We had props and they worked great. I didn't bother with the photo booth part because I felt like people would be disappearing to it and it'd split the crowd and I don't like the "organised fun"/pressure to participate bit. Also the logistics of the diy option and having someone to supervise weren't worth it to me.

The props were from €2 stores, dealz and similar. Less then €50 in total for a hape of stuff.

They were actually piled on a table at the back of the room and no one really noticed them until around midnight the dj pulled the table forward and everyone dived on them. Kicked the party into a higher gear. The photos are great.

I would definitely go with selfie sticks on the tables too.

We did a selfie station at our wedding. It's good fun and doesn't cost very much to do. I bought most of the stuff on aliexpress and was able to get selfie sticks for €1.50 each.
Aliexpress is super cheap and great as long as you're willing to wait for the items to arrive. It could take up to two months.
