i feel the brakes are a tad vague at the start of pedal travel ,

3 year old car , was wondering if there is a quick fix / way of improving it so its bitey a bit earlier ?

Change the brake fluid. Bleed the system. Check the condition of the pads/discs. Check your tyres.

This is something you can spend a lot of money on and a significant improvement is not guaranteed.

As above, a fluid change is probably the quickest and cheapest to try first. After that, I've found EBC pads and disks to be a good improvement over standard brakes on my Audi Allroad. However, the standard brakes on the Allroad are widely known to be terrible to it's a very low bar.

New pads and DISCS, they're gone very cheap, I notice a lot of newish cars with severely corroded rear discs most likely from light use , and as a result a very small pad contact patch , this uneven surface across the disc and pad surface would cause a lot of pedal travel, through pad flex. Some of the better funded racing lads with production brake set ups , use to change pads and discs after every race and practice ,sometimes 3 times a day ... most effective.

Just buy premium brand discs & pads. Old pads can glaze and that reduces friction.

+100 on the EBC stuff (online),I always use them on bigger cars

Change....Fluid, Pads, Lines and Rotors, Slave and/or Master Cylinder in that order. Dont forget the lines, they can be bulged, and are super cheap to replace.
