I got new tyres on front not so long ago but have being doing yardwork mainly since. Had tractor out in rd there and its see-sawing back and forth when getting up to speed with a load. They probably blewn the hell out of them to seat the bead.

As a ballpark what psi pressure are ye putting in mid range 4wd tractor tyres (85-100hp)?

R24 on front and l think R34 on rear?

    Tks.

You can check it out here

    http://agricultural.michelin.co.uk/uk/pressure_calculator/default#pc-tabs-tractor

If they are the width as mine 11/24 front 14/34 rear I put 35psi in front for loader and 15psi in the back tyres.

Ok l solved the mystery and l said I'd post back here as it may help someone else down the line.

As l said the symptoms were a routine and severe rocking back and forth when travelling the road.

It wasnt tyre pressure. Nothing to do with weights etc. Anyone want to hazard a guess before l post?

Load not balanced or trailer issues? Frontloader on or off?

Drink used to be the usual cause of this driving problem.
Drugs are now causing the same problems .

No. This is a rocking back and forth, not side to side.

Ok some clues. Its got to do with the wheels, in an indirect way. It wouldn't have happened with an mf135 or similar tractor wheel setup. If l say too much mire I might aswell tell ye the answer!!

I know. The rim centre's were not centred right on the outer rims. Tense they were out of balance. Like travelling in an oval shape as opposed to a circle

Ratio of new front tyres out of sync with worn rears.

    4wd was on?!

    Bingo!!

Hand lever on floor on my tractor. Pull it up to engage and down for off. But noticed that no matter which way l pushed it, 4wd still engaged. slid underneath and noticed the linkages weren't pushing it fully out of 4wd, so disengaged by hand.

l have it out of 4wd drive now but will have to investigate the linkages further. Apparently on button operated 4wd tractors, a failed solenoid will cause same problem.

That shouldn't cause the tractor to rock back and forth tho. Something else is causing your rocking

Yeah the 4wd is on the whole time and the solenoid keeps the linkages apart. So when it fails the linkages are connected. It's at the Dropbox behind the left side rear wheel

In combination with new front tyres and poor rears as waffeltrator pointed to and driving on hard surface.

very hard to match ratios in this scenario.

    It solved the problem anyways.
