Nite club assault

    Hi
Before Christmas I was entering a nite club when I was paying at the desk a bouncer approached me and started to push me out of the line as I was attempting to pay with change rather than a large note, I had not said anything to anyone at the time when he arrived in my face, I stood my ground and the next thing I know I was being choked, as an asthma sufferer I could not breathe and felt his hand on my face and around my mouth at which point I bit down to stop the choking, I don't remember a whole lot from the night even though I only had 5 drinks taken, I woke up in a cell with a 4 inch gash to my head 2 black eyes a burst lip and bruises all over my body (arms, legs, back and side) I was released with charge sheets for intoxication in a public place, I have now been informed I will be arrested tomorrow for assaulting the bouncer.

I have never been in trouble before and I'm currently a mature student in my final year in college.
I really don't know what to expect or do,
    Please give advice
I know speak to a solicitor etc but has anyone any experience of this situation?
    Thanks
    AA
