Hi guys.. I've recently started making videos of 3d models I've built of houses.. I have made videos of them before but with no sound or effects.. Need some easy to use software choices for video editing, fading in and out of scenes etc and a resource for free music and audio effects.. Any suggestions?

Real video folks will be horrified by this, but I use Camtasia Studio to edit regular video footage (as well as screen recordings, which was its original intent). It's very user friendly. You can use it free for 30 days then it's around €100 or so.

I've also used HitFilm Express to do a couple of things like change lighting levels. This is a more complex editor and is closer to professional NLEs like Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.

For free to use music, look for "creative commons music" and start looking. There's a lot out there. Just make sure that it's not "non-commercial" if you use for commercial use obviously :)

Perfect.. I will try this.. The reason I am looking for free right now is I want to prove to my boss who I do these types of videos for that it's worth the extra time and effort.. If he sees what can be done he will be willing to pay for the programs I need and if not then it shows my work in the best light.. So thank you for any help! Like I said I am relatively new to editing videos and adding music, sound effects etc. Finding the right music is difficult.. There is so much out there..! And you have to sample it all to find what's there!

You can also source music that you can use professionally for very cheap (~€15) off sites like Audiojungle.

("Royalty-free" means you don't pay continually, but you do need to pay up-front.)

btw one suggestion on the fades between scenes - stick to one type of fade, don't mix it up as it tends to look gimmicky. YMMV - good luck.
