Heating but no hot water

Hi, hope someone has a suggestion. I’m completely plumbing illiterate. Since the snow started our heating has been working fine but when turning on the hot water control nothing is happening, water stays cold. Have tried turning on the immersion too but also not heating the water?
It’s getting a bit problematic and the children are getting smelly without the bath!

combi boilers have a domestic heat exchanger for hot water chances are this has blockages on the heating side.
