Is it possible to do work experience/ internships in 3rd year? I am not doing TY and applied right to 5th year and I want to do some work experience during the school holidays. If this is possible, how do you enquire without the help of your school?

How old are you? Some employers won't take anyone under 16 or 18, but just do up a CV and give it around to all the local places, such as shops/cinemas/businesses, anywhere you think you'd like experience. Put a cover letter with it saying that you are looking for some work experience during the summer. Do it as soon as you can to beat the flock of other students that will be applying! Good luck!

    Hi OP,
As above, I think a summer job is the best decision. I know in the local secondary school. TY and LCA students have work experience. I'd assume that 4th/5th year wouldn't have work placement.

As mentioned above, it's good to get your C.V. and cover letter out soon. I'd also adapte each cover letter, to each establishment. Instead of doing a generic coverletter. In terms of past work experience/skills I'd alter these slightly to, appear relevant to each position, which is applied for.
