has anyone come across this before, and if so any recommendations for getting rid?

i think it is as a result of rubbing sweaty palms on the pants that gave it this red hue.

dont mind twe creases, they havent been worn in a while.

    many thanks

Wash them with a colour catcher yoke?

Did you loan them out to this lad?

You give tips based on incorrect assumptions?

Your tip was to use a colour catcher yoke. That implies using water so yeah I'm right. Don't offer stupid advice.

Were they ironed at any stage? That might have done it, if it was a little over-zealous.

Wind your neck in, and less of the ad hominem.
My tip was not to wash them with a colour catcher yoke, it asked if they had been washed with a colour catcher yoke...

When you assume... you cliche cliche cliche.

Not everything is so black & white (like the o.p.’s trousers)

OP- the trousers are damaged possibly due to ironing or overwear. Put them and the jacket into a clothes recyling bin and treat yourself to a new one.

Indeed. Let's dial it back folks.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Jacket is probably fine. They tend to last alot longer tham trousers. Tip is to buy 2 pairs of trousers each time you buy a suit. Lasts twice as long. Jacket is the more expensive component.

Depending on the material it may be fine to put trousers into a washing machine although I wouldn't do it after every wear.
