I've noticed that TF1 is no longer clearing on my TNTSAT 19e setup. All of the other French channels are descrambling but TF1 isn't. The card is valid till October.
Any ideas on what might be the cause?

Crikey. Can't believe it came to that. Would have expected that the national channel would always be carried.

Just to note, TF1 are a fully commercial privately owned channel and have been since 1987. They aren’t part of the national broadcaster France Télévisions.

Nonetheless, this should be a lesson for those who think that threats by Sky and Virgin to drop RTÉ if “must offer, must carry” was ended are completely idle.

I dont think thats a like for like comparison ICDG.

Canal dropped a commercial operation not a state funded broadcaster.

There is no must offer/must carry rule for TF1.

Sky/Virgin etc have been making money out of free content to form TV packages using an argument of platform neutrality for years. Now thats seen for what it is, they are like morris dancers when the whole area was reviewed.

IMO if Virgin/Sky tried the same thing with the must offer stations there would be other repercussions.

Looks like the little spat with TF1 is over and it is restored to the EPG.
