No wages paid this week , is it a banking issue?

I started with a new company just a few weeks back, I have been paid through my bank account twice and was due to be paid on Friday for the third week.

Nothing hit my account yesterday though. The workplace was closed since Wednesday because of the weather but as I am only there a few weeks I am not expecting any wages for the 3 days even though I am on PAYE.

Does anyone know if it is a common enough occurrence that Bank transfers would be affected because of the shutdowns due to weather? I'll probably be paid Monday but I am just curious if it is a common scenario..

If the place was closed then who could have processed the payment?

I've sent or received three transfers this week. If your office was closed maybe the payroll file wasn't sent on time but I doubt it's a banking issue caused by weather.

In 2018 with remote access, a closed office would be no excuse and even if there was an issue it should have been communicated.

Have you asked anyone else in your company if they were paid? It's probably more likely that you were left off the payroll (either by error or for some unknown intention) than because of the weather or office closure IMO.

I process the payroll in my own office. It can only be done on my computer because our software is linked to the revenue online and the certificates are stored on my computer. I haven’t been in since Tuesday so I would not have been able to process salaries this week. Thankfully, we get paid monthly so it didn’t impact us. It should have been communicated to staff though unless they assumed people would be aware
