A huge spider in house. At this time of the year?

Massive spider, like one you'd see at the end of summer racing across your floor, did exactly just that. I have no snow here so it's not that. Just curious is it not very unusual to see them at this time of year let alone so big?

House spiders are on the go all year round.

The cold weather just increases their hunger for human brains... nothing to worry about, carry on as normal. (After you burn your house down)

    Massive spider
If it is less than six feet tall you'll be alright.

..quite probably female too, they are usually a good bit larger and meatier than the male. They have a chance at a long life too. The female spider you see in your late teens could be the same one you bump into, in your early 30s.

I've noticed this also - lots of small spiders around and a few big ones. Been happening since mid January. I've never seen this behaviour before - normally they seem to vanish around November end before starting to reappear in April. Something unusual this year - perhaps the winter this year was milder and wetter then normal (until last week anyhow)?

With the unusually cold weather, people have their central heating on making the air in the houses drier. They could be out looking for water.
