    Hi All,

    After logging in on my PC with Windows 10 I am being greeted by a black screen with the cursor visible. The odd thing though is that I can log in to my wife's profile and there isn't an issue. My profile is the main/admin account. Can anyone please tell me whats going on.

    Cheers

    Two week later...
    Have you got it sorted?

    No, I've just been logging into the second account. The main account is still stalling.

    If you can log into another profile but not yours. It probably means your profile is corrupt. The data should be still there.
    Make sure you restart not shutdown the pc. Try pulling the plug to. Could even be an issue with windows explorer not opening. Can you use cmd on your profile?

    Just had a quick google. Try this https://www.techbout.com/fix-corrupt-user-profile-windows-10-9139/

    Not sure if related but have seen thing like you described(black screen with cursor after logging into account)

    If this is case, try CTRL+ALT+DEL - select Task Manager

    If Task Manager opens(on black screen was in my case) go to:

    File -> Run new task
    in popup window type: explorer.exe and hit Enter.
    Does it open File Explorer? Or you get any error messages ?

    Good advise from Eire Go Brach, just make sure to backup registry before edit it.
