Contract on Android app

Hi, just wanted to get a few opinions before opening a consumer rights complaint. I signed up to a 6 month subscription on an android device. It was for a dating site elite singles. After signing up I never really used the site because it was fairly dead in terms of the activity on it.

I tried cancelling my subscription with them but kept getting an error because they won't let you cancel a subscription using the mobile app. I then tried using a different device and cancelled the subscription. But they then deducted a further 6 months because I'd not done it the full 7 days prior to the contract expiring.

Is it reasonable for them to allow you to sign up but not cancel a subscription on the android device? Also they said once Id emaiked them that if you can purchase an 'Android pass' so that you can cancel using your phone but this wasn't made clear when I signed up and I think you can only purchase the pass on a different device.

Do the consumer rights boards in the whole of the EU work the same? Like if I put in a consumer complaint here would it hold as the company is German aparently.

I had an awful time with them, Mod deletion. I cancelled but it didnt go through. I contacted my bank to get refunded which was done, i had to cancel the card to stop them taking payments, then they started threatening legal proceedings. Completely OTT, if anyone else is considering elite singles they should steer well clear

Wow, their customer service has not been great in fairness, rude even. I might try go the bank route too. They did send me a confirmation of cancellation but deducted the money after. Did this happen with you also?

Yep...said they could only cancel for the next billing period not the current one....so went ahead and took the money

    Isn't tinder free?

This must be the tenth thread I've seen on boards about this crowd.
