07 VW Passat (B6) drivers door lock removal

Hi All, I'm wondering of one of you can help me.

The door handle has come disconnected from the cable that releases the catch when you pull the handle.

I have managed to strip the door off including the inner panel and window pane. I have also removed the screws visible in the door jam itself but still can get the lock out. I want to take it out to inspect it as it was playing up before I managed to dislodge the connecting cable :rolleyes:

I've looked on YT but can't find anything relevant.
Any help greatly appreciated.

is it something like this,go easy on the screw as too much will pop the rotating plate.

Thnak you. I had seen the first one. The design on the B6 is different but at least I think I can get the lock barrel out now. I've had to wait as the weather delayed things. I'' post an update as soon as I get back to it ;-)

Thank you Sir. Those instructions are similar to those posted above and for the earlier model VW Passat. The B6 is slightly different.
However, I have since managed to remove the lock. The biggest hindrance was getting a plastic guard or shield out but managed it finally.
tomorrow I have to reverse the whole procedure and put the lot back together

I'm not sure of the use of that plastic so may not bother with it. Dirt was getting on the inner mechanism anyway so not sure of it's practical use.
