    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone in Dublin 3 is experiencing lower than normal download speeds and higher ping times this evening? My router is syncing at 44 fown and 13 up but only getting 3 down. Upload speed not affected but ping times gone to 36 ms from between 8-10 ms.

    I’m on Vodafone FTTC.

    Could it be weather related?
    Thanks

If we had access to stats for the national nets you'd see 3x normal traffic from all the Netflix going on #sneachta #binge

Take INEX as a small example

Notable spike above previous Thursdays. Not huge, but it won't be counting lots of CDN-End User traffic.

Last night was an all time high for most providers in Ireland .. traffic wise. Traffic levels where 10-30% higher than normal ... depending on provider.

Most hit their evening levels at 10am in the morning.

Don't think today will be any better.

So what you get currently will give you an idea on how overcontended your ISP is.

I usually get around 60-80mbps, never saw less than 50. Was getting around 4mbps last night.

I noticed woeful pings, triple the norm as well. Throughput was good though.
